Thanks for the appreciation. SHA-1 is already broken and yet for now SHA-256 is secure cause you need to understand the mechanism as to how they function and you will realize that there are way too many extra calculations that take place in SHA-256 which in turn increases the complexity of the hashing functionality thus making it harder to crack.

I am planning to write an article on other advanced hashing algorithm, explaining why one is more secure than the other.
